על הממון נחשדו ועל הממון נפסלו. לא נחשדו על העריות. ועדי נפשות כעדי עריות. מעתה אפילו שניהן כותים. שנייא היא שאינן בקיאין בדיקדוקי גיטין. מעתה אפילו כותי אחד יהא פסול. אמר ר' אבין תיפתר שחתם ישראל בסוף. אמר ר' יוסי אתייא כמאן דאמר עדים חותמין זה שלא כנגד זה. ברם כמאן דאמר אין עדים חותמין אלא זה בפני זה אפילו חתם כותי בסוף כשר. ר' אילא בשם רבי יסא

For they taught: One who died at 50 years of age, died in being karet. One who died at 52, this is the death of Shmuel the prophet R. Shmuel bar Nahman said in the name of R. Yohanan: 85 elders, among them several prophets, were worrying about this.
