שאין חרוסת מצוה ר' לעזר בי רבי צדוק אומר מצוה ובמקדש מביאין לפניו גופו של פסח:

[eating] charoset is not a commandment. Rabbi Eliezer beRabbi Tsadok says, "It is a commandment." And in the [time of the] Temple, the body of the Pesach sacrifice would be set before [the Seder leader].
