בראשונה היו אומרים כו' אמר רבי יונה הכין צורכה מיתני בראשונה היו אומרים מלקט אדם עצים ועשבים מתוך שלו את הגס הגס כדרך שהוא מלקט בשל חבירו בין דקים וגסים נחשדו להיות מלקטין דקים והן אומרים בגסין ליקטנו התקינו שיהא זה מלקט מתוך של זה וזה מלקט מתוך של זה שלא בטובה נחשדו להיות מלקטין בטובה והן אומרין שלא בטובה ליקטנו התקינו שיהו מביאין מן הקרוב ומן המצוי אמר רבי זעירא ראשונה ראשונה מתקיימים היתה בהמתו שם בהמתו מוכחת עליו היתה כירתו שם כירתו מוכחת עליו ליקט בגסין מהו שיחזיר וילקט מן הגסים שבדקים אם אמר את כן אף הוא מלקט כל שדהו בשביעית היתה שדהו מליאה גסין תרתין מתניין חדא אמרי שדי וחדא אמרה אסור המסקל שדהו נוטל את העליונים ומניח את הנוגעות בארץ הדא אמרה שדי איזהו המודל אחת או שתים הדא אמרה אסור אף במועד כן אשכח תני מלקט אדם עצים ועשבים מתוך שלו את הגס הגס כדרך שהוא מלקט מתוך של חבירו בין דקין בין גסין בשביעית אבל לא במועד אף באבנים כן אשכח תני אף באבנים

[9] “Don’t bear false witness against your fellow” = “I am the Lord your God”. And it is written (Jer. 10:10) 'But Ad-nai G-d is Truth' [He is the living G-d, and the everlasting King; at His wrath the earth trembles, and the nations are not able to abide His indignation.] What is 'Truth'? Said Rabbi Abun that 'He is the living G-d and the everlasting King'. Said Rabbi Levi - the Holy One of Blessing said if you witness falsely against your neighbor I consider you as if you witnessed that I did not create the Heaven and the Earth. [10] “Do not covet your fellow’s house” = “On the doorposts of your house” – your house and not on your friend’s house. The Mishnah teaches: 'The appointed [priest] said to them: Bless one blessing [before the Shema] and they blessed.' What did they bless?Rav Matana said in the name of Shmuel: this is the blessing of the Torah. 'And they read the Ten Commandments, the Shema, Vehayah im shamoa and vayiomer. Rabi Ami in the name of Rabi Levi (?): this teaches that the blessings do not prevent [one from saying the Shema].
