בלשון הקודש היו אומרין (דברים כ״ה:ט׳) ונגשה יבמתו אליו לעיני הזקנים וחלצו נעלו מעל רגלו וירקה בפניו רוק שהוא נראה לדיינים (שם) וענתה ואמרה ככה יעשה לאיש אשר לא יבנה את בית אחיו עד כאן היו מקרין וכשהוקרא רבי הורקנוס תחת האלה בכפר אבוס וגמר את כל הפרשה והוחזקו להיות מקרין את כל הפרשה (שם) ונקרא שמו בישראל בית חלוץ הנעל מצוה בדיינים לא מצוה בתלמידים רבי יודה אמר מצוה על כל העומדים שם לומר חלוץ הנעל חלוץ הנעל:

the vial of Poterion wine that is given after the bath [in the bath house]. And in the future the Holy One of Blessing will give to Israel four cups of consolation to drink: 'God is my portion my cup' (Psalms 16:5); 'You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows' (Psalms 23:5); and also 'I will lift up the cups of salvation' (Psalms 116:13)
