1 “Wine in its natural state, one says for it ‘Creator of the fruit of the tree’ and one may not use it to wash his hands; when it is mixed, one says for it ‘Creator of the fruit of the vine’ and one may use it to wash his hands; these are the words of Rebbi Eliezer. But the Sages say, both pure and mixed one says over it ‘Creator of the fruit of the vine’ and one may use it to wash his hands.” Rebbi Abba said, it is not forbidden because of wasting food.
