ברכת כהנים כיצד במדינה אומרים אותה שלש ברכות ובמקדש ברכה אחת במקדש היו אומרים את השם ככתבו ובמדינה ככינוייו במדינה כהנים נושאין את ידיהם כנגד כתפותיהן ובמקדש על גבי ראשיהן חוץ מכ"ג שאינו מגביה ידיו למעלה מן הציץ ר"י אומר אף כ"ג מגביה את ידיו למעלה מן הציץ שנאמר (ויקרא ט׳:כ״ב) וישא אהרן את ידיו אל העם ויברכם ברכת כהן גדול כיצד חזן הכנסת נוטל ספר התורה ונותנו לראש הכנסת ראש הכנסת נותנו לסגן והסגן נותנו לכהן גדול כהן גדול עומד ומקבל וקורא עומד וקורא אחרי מות ואך בעשור וגולל את התורה ומניח' בחיקו ואומר יותר ממה שקריתי לפניכם כתוב כאן ובעשור שבחומש הפיקודים קורא אותו על פה ומברך עליה שמונה ברכות על התורה ועל העבודה ועל ההודייה ועל מחילת העון ועל המקדש ועל ישראל ועל הכהנים ושאר תפילה:
Rabbi Nechonia son of the Kanah would pray a short prayer upon his entering the Beit Midrash and upon his leaving it (They) said to him, what is the nature of this prayer? He said to them upon my enterance I pray that an error should not occur due to me and upon my leaving I give thanks for my share:
אמר רב חסדא צער גדול היה להן. בכל אתר את אמר הולכין אצל התורה. והכא את אמר מוליכין את התורה אצלן. אלא על ידי שהן בני אדם גדולים התורה מתעלה בהן. והא תמן מויבלין אורית' גבי ריש גלותא. אמר רבי יוסי בי ר' בון על ידי שזרעו של דוד משוקע שם אינון עבדין לו כמנהג אבהתהון. תמן תנינן מדלגין בנביא ואין מדלגין מנביא לנביא. ובנביא של י"ב מותר. ואין מדלגין בתורה. ר' ירמיה בשם רשב"ל לפי שאין גוללין ס"ת ברבים. ר' יוסי בעי
Upon entering what does he say? May it be the will before you my God and the God of my forefathers that I will not be particular against my peers and my peers shall not be particular against me; that I will not deem the pure "Impure" and not the impure "Pure," nor permit the prohibitted and prohibit the permitted, and find myself embarrassed in this word and in the World to Come.
